Hi, my name is Han Le (my first name) Han (my last name) and I’m an ikebana artist and floral designer living in Berlin. I received formal training in the Japanese art of flower arrangement through Ikenobō, the founding school of ikebana, and hold an MA in art history.

I follow an empathetic approach to floral arranging. By carefully observing the shape and natural growth pattern of each branch, leaf, and blossom, I gain an understanding of the characteristics that define their very own beauty in order to fully bring them out. Their spatial and textural aspects, their interaction with each other and with the empty space around them are what interests me most.

In my free style flower arrangements and installations, I like to incorporate unconventional, man-made materials and explore them with the same sensitivity I apply on flowers. Ultimately, I want to create something compelling that sheds a new light on how we perceive the beauty of flowers and other materials.
